Biography
Jade Balfour was born into a pureblood wizard family as was his younger sister Nephry. They were born and raised in Poland though their parents were both German and Polish. In their small town, Jade met Peony, a young wizard close to his age, and Saphir, an annoying wizard that Jade hated. He was a very bright boy and easily learned even the most difficult things. Jade attended Hogwarts and was sorted into Ravenclaw. Much to his annoyance, Saphir also attended Hogwarts and was also sorted into Ravenclaw. During his third year at the school, he met Professor Gelda Nebilim who taught Transfigurations. Jade found her very interesting and talked to her very often. The two became close and they even began a relationship during Jade's 6th year. Their affair was well hidden by the two as not even Saphir/Dist, who also liked the Professor a lot, noticed until the Professor became pregnant when Jade was 21.

Jade was actually happy about the pregnancy and promised to stay with her, perhaps even marry her eventually. Nebilim gave birth to a healthy baby girl and everything was wonderful. That was, until Jade decided to learn some very difficult spells. Despite being told by the Professor that not even some of the most advanced wizards could do those, Jade continued trying. It was while he was attempting one of these spells that he accidentally killed Nebilim. Being completely distraught by the woman's death, he gave away his child and focused all his time and energy on reviving Nebilim using magic, something that had never been done. In a sense, he succeeded as he made an exact replica of the woman's body. However, there was one flaw and that was that the memories of the person replicated were gone completely. The replica went insane and was sealed away.

A powerful wizard family within the Ministry of Magic, the Curtiss family, heard of Jade's accomplishments and adopted him. Over the years, Jade has written many books on replication, transfigurations, potions, different creatures, and various spells. When he was 25, his childhood friend, Peony, became one of the heads in the Ministry and wished for Jade to become the head of the his army, if you will, that was created to fight back against dark wizards. Since then, Jade has become infamous for killing many a dark wizards and death eaters even earning him the title of Jade the Necromancer.

When he was 30, he received an assignment to investigate a muggle church that may have been harboring a powerful dark wizard, which turned out to be false. While there he spotted a young girl named Anise helping out a young boy in the church. Instantly, he noticed that there was something interesting about her like the fact she was a witch. When she was ten, he tried to tell her but she thought he was simply crazy and the devil. Jade found her reaction amusing. It wasn't until Hogwarts started sending her letters that she believed him. Since she couldn't afford going to Hogwarts, Jade was the one that paid for all her supplies. She also mistook him for someone from the army and started calling him Colonel. The name has stuck ever since.

After the attack on Hogwarts during the ball, the Ministry has been worried that there is someone on the inside working for the death eaters and they decided to send one of their own to investigate. Peony insisted that Jade go. Needless to say Jade was not pleased as he hates teaching but when Peony told him that it was an order, what could he do beside begrudgingly agree.

Extra Facts:

1. Red is not Jade's natural eye color. It was a experiment he did on himself as a child to amplify his power. Jade's original eye color is something few people know and he's not about to tell anyone. Hint, his eye color is also the color of his canon uniform.
2. Jade does not understand the concept of death. It is simply something completely foreign to him. That being said, he is a bit envious of people who understand it and actually feel remorse after killing someone.
3. He hates pigs and anything having to do with pigs due to Peony loving them. Peony forces Jade to babysit his 5 beloved pigs on occasion and has even named one 'Cute Jade'. This mildly disgusts Jade.
4. Jade does not enjoy teaching. In fact, he loathes anything of the sort and is here against his will. With that said, he may make class more fun for him by tormenting his special students.
5. Jade has perfect 20/20 vision. He wears glasses simply to dull the color of his eyes since they're such a vibrant red.

Relationships

Anise Tatlin- 4th year Slytherin. A young girl who befriended Jade several years before Hogwarts. While she may be money-hungry and wants to marry rich but he enjoys her company. Jade appears to know quite a bit more about her than he lets on. What exactly does he know? Hopefully she'll never have to find out.

Maito Gai- Flying TA. An irritating man who reminds Jade of Dist. After the Chibi incident, Gai has become convinced Jade is the devil incarnate. While this amuses Jade, there are times at which he becomes too annoying to bare. Even if he is annoying, Jade does hold a certain amount of respect for Gai due to his determination to keep the children safe.

Death the Kid- 3rd year Ravenclaw. Jade finds him very amusing. Jade thoroughly enjoys making things as unsymmetrical as possible simply to rouse a reaction from the boy. There was also that incident where Jade tied Kid to a chair. Why? He has his reasons and hopes that they might be able to 'talk' like that again in the future.

Franken Stein- Transfigurations Professor. A man who completely fascinates Jade. Whether it be the may likes to experiment on himself as Jade does or that he is intelligent enough to call an equal, Jade likes him enough to consider him a friend.

Nia Tepplin- Divinations TA. She is very innocent and naive which Jade friends interesting. Since she is quite a nice person, Jade isn't that evil to her; he just helped her get into a kinky bondage outfit for Sanzo's birthday and bought her a book on bondage and sex toys for Christmas. Yup, not evil at all.

Fakir- Former Slythern, now Flying TA. The first time they spoke, Jade creeped Fakir out sightly by talking about cutting people open to prove that a blood is the same. During the Alice in Wonderland event, Jade was under the influence of the insanity tea and rhymed about Fakir being a raven as well as wanting to see him bleed. Jade doesn't understand why Fakir doesn't trust him since he's a good person. Really, really, really, really deep down inside. If anything, Jade takes full pleasure in scaring Fakir. He needs some form of entertainment in his old age.

Zangetsu- Transfigurations Professor who is one of the few that surpasses Jade in age. Due to that, Jade has respect for the man as he is knowledgeable and does not behave as a child like the majority of the school. While they have not had extended conversations, Jade does like the man and even bought him a Christmas gift: A book on how to start conversations and make friends.

Cierra- Charms Professor. She calls him sir. The first time they talked was when she was considering quitting after killing a Death Eater and he yelled at her about being so foolish. During the love potion event, Jade fell in love with her and accidentally revealed everything about himself to her. She is the only one who knows why Jade's really here. Jade respects her.

Haseo- 7th year Gryffindor. At first, Jade merely enjoyed teasing the boy and testing out different methods of what might annoy him. After talking with the boy a bit, Jade has come to like him. When Jade almost got killed in the forest, it was Haseo who dragged him to the infirmary. He not only punched Jade but hugged him, something that startled Jade. Jade has started to consider Haseo a friend after that incident.

Guy Cecil- CoMC TA. ~~Jade's pet.~~ Guy is Jade's TA. Jade takes full pleasure in working Guy to the bone and having him explain things. He also remembered Guy during canon days, which is when he also found out about Guy's past. Jade has the tendency to make long and difficult task lists for Guy

Edward Elric- 7th year Gryffindor. Another boy Jade enjoys teasing. At some point Jade called Ed out on his prosthetics and found out about the boy's past which is so eerily similar to his own seeing as they both tried and failed to revive the dead. During the Road Not Taken Event, Jade thought that Ed was his adopted son. While Jade would not easily admit it, he likes Edward and holds a certain respect for the boy.

Endrance- Herbology Professor. This man is Haseo's boyfriend so naturally Jade felt it his duty to meet him. During their first encounter, Jade convinced Endrance to wear a dress which resulted in some pleasurable interaction between Endy and Haseo. The man does entertain Jade, especially since he can easy manipulate him by simply mentioning the word Haseo.

Alphonse Elric- 6th year Hufflepuff. Ed's younger brother. Jade hasn't really spoken to the boy before finding out what happened to Ed. After that, he became interested in both boys, even going so far as to test the bond between them by 'killing' Al for a few seconds. Ed was pissed, naturally. Jade doesn't honestly mind Al and actually hopes that Ed can cure him.
